Task 5 – Planning


Task 4 – Ideas Generation

I had a lot of different ideas for my game at first but the one I decided to go for was a game I am calling protect the sea which is a game where a bunker full of radiation explodes and goes into the sea infecting the sharks and giving them powers such as a making them really quick or super strong in dire need of a hero you come along Jacob the life guard and pro water skier so you deiced using your water skis to take on these sharks and save the beach. You use a pistol at the start to fight through your enemy's which will occasionally drop health pick ups. When you get towards the end you will be able to pick up an upgrade which will swap out your pistol for an assault rifle so you do more damage and can fire constantly by holding down the fire key instead of tapping it. You will need this weapon to defeat the main boss which was the first shark to get infected called brutus he has a lot of special powers such as he fires a lazer beam that will deal a lot of damage he will also charge forward at you which will instantly kill you if you don't dodge it but if you do he will be vulnerable and take a lot more damage. At the end of the game you go off the top off the screen and will be notified you have saved the day

Task 3 – Inspiration Research

In the top down shooter game I have decided to make you play as a water skier who has been given the job of getting rid of the radio active sharks that have infested the water so you decide that the best way to do it would be to do it on your water skis to get round the waters as quick as you can




The enemy for this game will be sharks who have been turn green due to a radio active spill on the coast making these sharks a lot stronger than usual. The last boss battle will be a giant shark who has been given powers from the radiation   

Task 2 – Game Evaluation

After playing the mekka hornet game for 20 minutes I instantly realized it was a Japanese top down shooter  where you play as a little hornet with a turret that fire 1 bullet at your enemys which are little robots that will cause damage if they bump in to you if you destroy an enemy there is a chance he will drop a health pick up to increase your survivability once you get further on in the game you can collect an upgrade that will make your weapon shoot 4 bullets in a spread rather than 1 bullet firing straight this will help you fight more enemys at 1 time and you won't take as much damage. Eventually at the end of the game you fight a boss who has 3 eyes and won't take damage if his eyes are closed so you have to wait for him to fire homing missels and dodge them after that his eyes will open and you can shoot them after that he will spawn little enemys and then fires missels again and repeats this cycle which makes for a rather easy boss fight as the miisels are rather slow and can be shot down so your upgraded weapon makes it quite easy. Overall I think the aspect to this game was a good idea but once you get the upgraded weapon the challenge seems to deteriorate.
